Tarihin Seyrini Değiştiren Hata: İkinci Dünya Savaşı'ndaki İnanılmaz Olay

Bu inanılmaz hikayeyi bana ilk defa anlatan, Japon Dış işleri Bakanlığının organı olan Nippon Times'in sahibi Kazuo Kavai olmuştu. 1945 yılının temmuz ve ağustos aylarında Kavai, sözü geçen bakanlıkta her gün uzun saatler geçirmişti. Tuttuğu notlardan ve hafizasinda o karanlık ve dagdagalı günlerden artakalan hatıralardan, bana bir kelimenin dünyayı değiştirebilecek macerasını çizdi.

1945 ilkbaharında Japonya çok müşkül bir durumda bulunuyordu. Müttefik akınları, demir yollarını, şoseleri, köprüleri berhava ediyordu. Şehir ve kasabaların harabe halini almış yerlerinden dumanlar tütüyor, milyonlarca kişi evsiz barksız bekleşiyordu. Yiyecek namına ortada bir şey kalmamıştı. Bir yandan da Amerikan uçakları filonun geri kalan son parçalarını da batırmıştı.

Bütün bunlara rağmen yüksek komuta heyeti, harbe son verecek bir karara meyletmektense ölünceye kadar çarpışmayı tercih ediyordu. Hem onlara göre harbin nihai kısmı mutlak olarak kazanılacak ve Amerikalılar Okinawa'dan atılacaklardı. Bu hususu general Anami, bizzat vaadediyordu.

Askerî çevrelerin bu türlü düşünüşüne mukabil sayıca az da olsa bazı diplomatlar Japonya için selameti teslim olmakta buluyorlardı. Hatta bunlar kayıtsız şartsiz teslim teklifini yumuşatabilmek gayesiyle, o zamanlar henüz bîtaraf olan Sovyet Rusya'nın aracılığına başvurmuşlardı. Temmuzun üçünde eski Başbakan Hirota, Rus Büyükelçisi Malik'e bu mevzuda bazı tekîifier yaptı. Fakat Malik bunları gayet soğuk karşıladı. Bunun üzerine 12 Temmuzda imparator, Prens Konoye'yl bir sulh mesajı ile Rus başkentine yollamağa karar verdi. Ancak Stalin ve Molotov'dan bu arzuya gelen cevapta Potsdam Konferansinin hazırlıkları ile son derece meşgul oldukları bildirildi. 

Potsdam'da Stalin bizzat Başkan Truman'a, Japonların müzakere kapısı açmak istediklerini, fakat 

kendilerinin bu teklifi gayri samimî buldukları için reddettiklerini söyledi, Birleşik Amerika, îngiltere ve Çin'in imzalamış oldukları Potsdam ültimatomu 26 Temmuz 1945 de Japonya'ya ilan edildi. Bunda Japonlar teslime davet ediliyor, aksi mahvedilecekleri hatirlatiliyordu: Ültimatomun Japon "siyasî Çevrelerinde yarattığı "intiba" "son derece müsaitti Çünkü ifade beklenildiğinden çok daha yumuşaktı. 

Japonların millet olarak yok edilmeyeceği vaadediliyor, kendi hükümetlerin seçmekte muhtar olacakları ilave ediliyordu. imparator, Dışişleri Bakanı Togo'ya beyannameyi makul bulduğunu bildirdi. Bütün kabine dçrhal toplanarak Müttefik ultimatomunu incelemeye koyuldu. 

Kabinenin bu 27 Temmuz tarihli tarihli toplantısında. Milli Savunma Bakam Anami ve Genelkurmay mensuplarının muhalefetine rağmen temayül sulh lehine tecelli etti. 

Ancak bazı müşküller elan halledilmiş değildi. Rusya vasıtasıyla yapılan teklifler ne olacaktı?

Moskova'ya son teklifler henüz iki gün önce gönderilmişti. Sonra Japon kabinesini düşündüren bir diğer nokta daha vardı. Potsdam ultimatomu sadece radyolar vasıtasıyla kendilerine ulaşmıştı. Böyle gayri resmi bir habere hükümet ne dereceye kadar güvenebilirdi?

Müttefikler tarafindan tanınan mehilin uzun olmayacağı muhakkaktır. Ertesi gün de Başbakan Suzuki'nin gazetecilerle konuşma sı gerekiyordu. Bu toplantıda Potsdam tekliflerinin de ortaya atılacağı tabii idi. Suzuki'nim gazetecilere kabinenin müttefik teklifleri hakkında bir karara varamadığını söylemesi kararlaştırıldı.

Ertesi 28 Teınmuz günü Başbakan Suzuki basın temsilcilerine hükümetin bir «Mokusatsu» siyaseti takip etmekte olduğunu söyledi. 

Bu kelimenin batı dillerinde tam bir karşılığı olmadığı gibi aynı zamanda iki manaya gelir. Bir manası haberi olmamak, diğeri de tefsirden kaçınmaktır. 

İşte Domei Haberler Ajansının mütercimleri Suzuki'nin ne kastettiğini bilmediklerinden Başbakanın beyanatını îngilizceye tercüme ederlerken hakikate uymayan Birinci manayı kullanmışlardır. 

Ve Tokyo radyosunun antenleri de büyün dünyaya, başbakan Suzuli'nin Potsdam Ultimatomları diye bir şeyi tanımadığını duyurmuşlardır.

Bundan ötesi artık tarihin malıdır. O zamanlar Amerika Savunma Bakanı olan Henry L. Stimson, atom bombası kullanmaya nasil karar verdiğini şöyle anlatıyor: «28 Temmuzda Japon Başbakanı Suzuki, Potsdam ültimatomunu reddetti. Bu red karsisinda ültimatomun ihtiva ettiği esasları gerçekleştirebilmek kudretînde olduğumuzu ispat etmek gerekiyordu... Verilebilecek yegane cevabı atom bombası teşkil ediyordu.

Hiroşima ve Nagasaki'ye atılan bombalardan on gün sonra da Japonya'nın teslim olduğu bildirildi.

Bunları anlatan Kaiwai, Nippon Times'den  ayrılmış olup halen Ohio üniversitesinde siyasî tarih okutmaktadır. Kendisi diyor ki; «Amerikanın Japon hükümetinin cevabı karşısında tuttukları yolu mantıki bulmak lazımdır. Mamafih ben asıl Rusya'nın müttefiklerine Japonya'nın kendisine sulh teşebbüsünde bulunduğunu bildirmeyişini hayretle karşılıyorum.»

Die Krone des Weltreichs sollte ihr strahlendstes Nach dreieinhalb Jahrhunderten englischer herrschaft würde Indien in Kürze frei werden - jedoch unter den tragischstrn ummständen denn seine grobe  und so gegensätzlichen (/'ngruppen standen an der Schwelle des Bürgerkriegs. die dornenvolle Aufgabe, Indien von England w lösen, la'stete schwer. zwei Männern, die verschiedener nicht hätten seinkönnen dem weltgewantden englischen Aristokraten und Kriegsherrn Louis Mountbatten und dem hinduistischen Asketen und volksführer Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. In dieser ersten Folge unseres zweiteiligen Buchausz.ugs beschwören die Autoren eine Zeit herauf, die schon in die Geschichte entrückt ist,eine Epoche,an deren Ende diese beiden Männer alle Meinungsverschiedenheiten begruben und nur noch danach strebten, den Subkontinent vordem mörderischen Bruderkampf zu bewahren.

NEUJAHR 1947 . . . 

Ein Hauch von Melancholie hing wie ein Nebelschleier über London. 

Nur selten, ja vielleicht noch nie war 

Englands Hauptstadt in einer so trüben, so düsteren StiiTimung in ein neues Jahr gegangen. Die Straßen waren fast menschenleer. Die wenigen Passanten, die auf den Gehwegen dahineilten, trugen alte Uniformen oder Kleider, denen man deutlich ansah, daß sie seit fast acht Jahren immer wieder ausgebessert und geän dert worJcii waren. Ein beißender Geruch harb verkohlter trümmer der wie scliwerer Hcrbstdunst aus Tausenden zcrbombter Häuser aufstieg. 

Erst 17 Monate war es her, daß die 

Engländer aus deııı furchtbarsten 

Krieg der Geschichte siegreich hcrvorgegangen waren. Ihre Leistungen zumal ihre Standhaftigkcit ini Unglück — hatten ihnen eine Bewunderung eingetragen, wie die Welt sie ihnen noch nie gezollt hatte. Aber die  Kosten des Sieges hatten das unbezwingbare Land fast zu Boden gewerfen. Die Industrie war gelähmt, die Staatskassc nahezu leer. Überall schlössen Hütten und Fabriken. Tausende von Engländern waren arbeitslos. Das Wort, das auf den Schaufensterscheiben der Londoner Geschäfte am häufigsten prangte, war „Keine — „Keine Kartoffeln", „Keine Kohlen", „Keine Zigaretten", „Kein Fleisch'

Das Britische Weltreich, dieses 

sammelsurium von Territorien, Protektroten Kolonien und Dominions. wir in Jiesein l. Januar 1947 zwar noch weitgehend intakt, doch auch -iıs sollte sicil bald ändern. Das Zeitalter des Inıperialismus war zu Ende. -Mit dieser unabänderlichen geschichtSehen Tatsache hing es zusainmen, dab an dieseiu Neujahrsmorgen ein schwarzer Austin fast verstohlen duTch die menschenleeren Straßen der Hauptstadt glitt.

Der Wagen fuhr am Buckingham Palast vorbei bog in die Mall ein, Der einzige Fahrgast im Fond salı nachdenklich hinaus auf den imposanten Boulevard, der an seinen Äugen vorüberzog. Wie oft, ging es ihm durch den Kopf, hatte England auf dieser Prachtstraße seine imperialen Triumphe gefeiert!

Konteradmiral Louis Francis Albert Victor Nicholas Mountbatten, 

Viscount'of Burma, war ein man von 46 Jahren, schlank und über 1.80 meter grob. Seine Gesichtszüge waren von geradezu klassischer £benmäßigkeit, und das dichte, volle Haar über den dunklen Augen machte ihn gut fünf Jahre jünger, als er inWirklichkcit war.

Seit der Hcinikchr aus dem Krieg war Moııntbattcn oft in Downing 

Street 10 zu Kate gezogen worden. 

Meist ging es dabei um AngclcgcnIwitcn der Läncler, clic unter seine Befchlsgcwalt als Obcrkommandicrcnder der alliierten Strcitkräftc m Südostasicn gefallen waren. Bei scincni letzten Besuch hatten sich die Fragen Premierministcr Clement Attlees jedoch hauptsächlich auf Indien bezogen, ein Land, das nicht zu seinem Operationsgebiet gehört hatte. Der junge Admiral hatte plötzlich „ein sehr unangenehnies, höchst ungutes Gefühl" gehabt. Seine Ahnung hatte ihn nicht getrogen. Attlee beabsichtigte, ihn zum Vizekönig von Indien zu ernennen.

Es war der wichtigste Posten im

ganzen Empire. In langer, unuiitcrbrochener Folge hatten Englander in diesem Amt die Geschicke ciiics Sechstels der Menschheit gelenkt. 

Mountbattcns Aufgabe würde jedoch nicht sein, Indien zu resicrcn. 

Sein Auftrag würde einer der schmerzlichsten sein, die eincı-ıı Englander übertragen werden konnten er sollte Indien aufgeben. 

Daß es für England an der Zeit sei. sich aus Indien zurückzuziehen, war auch Mountbattens Meinung, aber sein Herz rebellierte bei deni Gedanken, daß ausgerechnet er die uralten Bande zerschneiden sollte, die England mit dem stolzen Bollwerk seines Empire verknüpften. Um Attlee abzuschrecken, hatte er einen ganzen Katalog größerer und kleinerer Forderungen gesteüt. Sie reichten von der Zahl der Sekretäre, die ihm zugestanden werden müßten, bis zum Typ seines Dienstflugzeugs. Überdies hatte er uneingeschränkte Vollmachten verlangt, eine Bedingung, für die es keinen Präzedenzfall gab. Sehr zu seinem Leidwesen hatte" Attlee sich mit allem einverstanden erklärt. Als 

Mountbatten jetzt in den Kabinettssaal trat hoffte er jedoch noch immer, sich Attlees Planen irgendwie entziehen zu können.

Die Lage werde täglich ernster, begann der Premicrminister; man mysse eine rasche Entscheidung treffen. 

Er verwies auf die geschichtliche Paradoxie, die darin lag, daß England endlich bereit, Indien die Freiheit zu geben — keinen gangbaren Weg zu diesem Ziel finden konnte. Die 

Stunde, die Englands stolzeste in 

Indien hätte sein sollen, schien zu einem Alptraum von beispiclloscnı 

Entsetzen zu werden. Die Engländer 

hatten Indien, verglichen mit ändern 

Kolonien, verhältnismäßig unblutig erobert und regiert. Ihr Abzug drohte eine Explosion der Gewalt auszulösen, die alles in den Schatten stellte, was sie dort in dreieinhalb Jahrhunderten erlebt hatten. 

Die Wurzel des Problenis lag in 

dem alten Gegensatz zwischen den 

280 Millionen Hindus und den über

100 Millionen Moslems Indiens. Der 

durch die Tradition, den grundverschiedenen Charakter ihrer Reli gionen und wirtschaftliche Spannungen genährte Konflikt hatte den Siedepunlct erreiclit. Die Führer der indisehen Moslems verlangten jetzt, England solle die Einheit, die es mit soviel Mühe geschaffen hatte, zerstören und ihnen einen eigenen islaniischen 

Staat geben. Sollte ilinen dieser Staat verweigert werden, warnten sie, so werde das den blutigsten Bürgerkrieg in der Geschichte Asiens zur Folge 

haben. 

Die Führer der Kongreßpartei, hinter der die Mehrheit der indischen 

Hindus stand, widersetzten sich dieser Forderung auf das entschiedenste. 

In ihren Augen kam die Teilung des 

Subkontinents einer Verstümmelung ihrer geschichtlichen Heimat gleich und war damit fast ein Sakrileg.

So standen sich zwei unvereinbare 

Forderungen gegenüber — die Engländer befanden sich in einer Zwickmuhle. All ihre Versuche, das Problem zu lösen, waren gescheitert. 

Und jetzt steuerten England und Indien, wie Attlee dem Adniiral erHarte, auf eine Katastrophe zu. Es mußte etwas geschehen. Jeden Morgen traf in denı für das" Kaiserreich zuständigen India Office ein Stoß Depes en ein' die von blutigen Auseinandersetzungen in immer neuen ecken des Subkontinents berichteten. 

Es sei betonte Attle Mountbattens heilige Pflicht, den ihm angetragenen posten zu übernehmen.

Mit hängenden Schultern trat 

Mountbatten eine Stunde später wieder auf die Straße. Als er auf seinen Austin zuging, kam ihm ein eigentümlichcr Gedanke. Auf den Tag genau vor 70 Jahren, fast zur selben Stunde, war seine Urgroßmutter Königin Viktoria auf einer Ebene bei Delhi zur Kaiserin von Indien ausgerufen worden. 

Die aus diesem Anlaß versammelten indischen Fürsten hatten damals zum Himmel _ gefleht, die „Macht und Souveränität" der Monarchin möge immerdar unerschüttert bleiben Und nun, an diesem trüben Neujahrstag setzte einer ihrer Urenkel das Verfahren in gang das diesem immerdar ein ende setzen sollte.

Zum Herrschen geboren 

FÜNF kümmerliche Schillinge hatten England einst in das große koloniale Abenteuer geführt, das Louis Mounthatten jetzt abschließen sollte. Uni diesen Betrag nämlich hatten die liolländischen Freibeuter, die den Gewürzhandel kontrollierten, den Preis für ein Pfund Pfeffer erhöht. Am Nachınittag des 24. September 1599 versammelten sich 24 "aufgebrachte Londoner Handelsherren in einem baufälligen Haus en der" Leadenhall

street rund drei Kilometet von dem ort an dem Mountbatten und Attlee spater konferierten. Zweck der Zusammenkunft war die Gründung einer bescheidenen Handelsgesellshaft mit einem Anfangskapital von 72000 Pfund. Dahinter steckte schlichtes Gewinnstreben, sonst nichts. Das Unternehmen, das den 

Namen Ostindische Handelskoınpanie erhielt, sollte sich rasch ausdehnen und sich schließlich zur grandiosesten Schöpfung der imperialistisehen Epoche entwickeln: dem British Raj, der britischen Herrschaft in Indien.

Die Kompanie hatte auf Anhieb

Erfolg. Bald löschten an den Kais entlang der Themse alljälirlich mehrere schiffe Berge von Gewürzen, rere Gummi, Zucker, Rohseidc uiid Musselin aus Indien und liefen niit cnglisehen Erzeugnissen beladen wieder aus. Mit dem zuncliiiicndcn Umfang ihrer konııncrzicllcn Tätigkeit wurde die Konipanic zwangsläufig in die Lokalpolitik lıincingczogcn; uın den Handel zu sclıützcn, iiiußteii sich ihre 

Vertreter in die Streitigkeiten zwisehen den Kleinfürsten einmischen in deren Gebiet sie arbeiteten. Ein unaufhaltsamcr Prozeß hatte begonnen. 

An seinem Ende stand die fast unbeabsichtigte Eroberung Indiens durch die Engländer.

Nach einer blutigen Erhebung der 

Armee im Jahre 1857 wurde die Ehrenwerte Ostindische Handelskoıııpanic aufgelöst und die Verantwortung für das Schicksal von 300 Millionen Indern in die Hände einer 39 Jahre alten Frau, der Königin Viktoria, gelegt. Die Viktorianische Ära, die ohne das Indien-Abenteuer nicht denkbar ist, erreichte damit, ihren Höhepunkt. Ihr Weltbild wurde weithin durch einen Gedanken bestimmt, den ihr selbstemannter Poeta laurcatus, Ruclyard Kipling, häufig ausgesprochen hat: daß sich die Engianeler in einzigartiger Weise dafür eigneten, „geringere Rassen ohne Gesetz" zu beherrschen.

Das Indien dieser Engländer war 

das Indien der vornehmen Offiziere, 

die mit fcdcrgcschmückten Tschakos vor ihren turbantragendcn Sepoys 

hcrritten. Glanzvolle Bälle in der 

Sommerrcsidcnz Simla im Himalaja, 

Kricketkämpfc auf den gepflegten 

Rasenflächen des Bcngalischen Klubs von Kalkutta, Poloparticn auf den sonncnverbrannten Ebenen von Radschputana, Tigerjagden in Assam gaben ihm das Geprägc. Es war das Indien der jungen Männer, die sich mitten im Dschungel mit schwarzer Krawatte in cinem Zeit zum Dinner setzten und feierlich einen Toast auf den König und Kaiser ausbrachten, während in der Dunkelheit ringsum Schakale heulten; das Indien der Offiziere in scharlachroten Röcken, die die felsigen hohlwege des Chaiber-Passes oder im nordwestlichen Grenzgebiet bei Schneeregen ebenso wie bei unerträglicher Hitze aufständischc Pathanen verfolgten; 

das Indien einer ihrer Überlegenheit absolut sicheren Kaste, die auf den 

Veranden ihrer nur für Europäer zugänglichcn Klubs Champagner oder Whisky schlürfte. 

Diese Männer stammten durchweg aus Familien von untadeligem 

Stammbaum, aber weniger gefestigtem Wohlstand. Es waren Söhne wackerer anglikanischer Lanclpfarrer; begabte zweite Söhne Ses grundbesitzenden Adels, die das Erstgeburtsrecht vom väterlichen Erbe ausschloß; Söhne von Schulleitern, Gymnasialprofcssoren und KJeinadeligen. Auf den Sportplätzen und m den Klassenzimmern von Eton, Harrow, Rugby, Winchester und anderen exklusiven Public Schools erhielten sie die Schulung, die sie befähigte, einmal ein Weltreich zu regieren. „Indien", schrieb der Historiker James Mill im frühen 19. Jahrhundert, „war ein einziges großes Versorgungsinstitut für die englische OberSchicht.

Der Hauptzeitvertreıb für die Engländer in Indien war der Sport. Jede 

größere Stadt hatte ihre Jagd; die nötigen Hunde wurden aus der Heimat importiert. Das von der indisehen Aristokratie geschätzte Polospiel fand bei den Engländern solchen 

Anklang, daß sie es geradezu institutionalisierten. Aber die Engländer trieben in Indien durchaus nicht nur 

Sport; sie starben dort auch in großer Zahl, oft in jungen Jahren und unter tragischen Umständen. In jedem englischen Viertel, jeder englisehen Siedlung lag neben der ein Friedhof, auf dem die kleine Gememde die Unglücklichen begrub 

die dem mörderischen Klima 

Landes, seinen besonderen Gefahren seinen Malaria-, Cholera- unu 

Dschungelfîeberepidemien zum 

fer gefallen waren.

Bütün samimiyetlerine rağmen maddi varlıkların azlığından üyelerin fotoğraf ve biyografilerinin edilememesinden bu teşebbüslerinde muvaffak olamamışlardır.

idare heyetimizin bu yoldaki çalışmalan ve hal çareleri bir neticeye baglanmak üzereyken, liseli öğrenci kardeşlerımizin çıkarmağa ve yaşatma muvaffak oldukları Bizim Petek'le karşılaştık.

Notes from "The United States and Britain in Prophecy Book"

People of the Western world would be stunned — dumbfounded — if they 

knew! The governments of the United 

States, Britain, Canada, Australasia, 

South Africa would set in motion 

gigantic crash programs —if they 

knew! They could know! But they 

don't! Why?

INTRODUCTION 

A STAGGERING TURN in world events is due to erupt in the next few years. It will involve violently the United "States, Britain, Western Europe, the Middle East. It's already rather late for the free world to come awake to the real meaning behind current world events! Why do not the world's leaders see what is coming? Why are the world's best minds unseeing—the heads of state, scientists, educators, editors, news analysts, bankers, industrialists, leaders in business and commerce? They are totally unaware! Why? 

Because they have been falsely educated and deceived into closing their minds to the great causes behind world events and trends. This world has been falsely educated to ignore causes and deal with effects! Yet all the world's problems and ills are simply a matter of cause and effect. There is a cause that has produced strife and war; poverty, wretchedness, inequality; crime, disease, mental ills. But the leaders do not know! 

World Explosion to Erupt The world's leaders are the educated of the world. But they were not educated in BASIC TRUTHS—the foundations of right knowledge. The most necessary knowledge is not being 

taught! They do not know WHAT man is—or WHYThey know nothing of the purpose or meaning of life! They were taught to distinguish the true values from the false. They didl not learn the real causes—the way to peace, to happiness, universal abundance; nor the causes of war, unhappiness inequality, world chaos. 

They know nothing of the purpose being worked out here below. Consequently, they guide humanity on a course in conflict with that purpose, wreaking havoc upon a distressed, suffering, unhappy mankind. Lacking knowledge of the way to peace, the world does not have peace. Leaders talk of peace; 

they profess to work for peace; they cry out for peace—while they give approval and blind acceptance to the way that produces war!

This world has simply been going the wrong way! 

This world is giving assent to, and conferring civilization's acceptance on, THE WAYS that are the CAUSES of all the world's ills. 

And now we are fast approaching the final grand smash explosion that is going to stagger the mind of man beyond the bounds of sanity. Forces are at work today on plans, programs, conspiracies, movements that soon will erupt into a world explosion of violence and chaos such as never happened before, and never will again. Men today are tampering with forces of nature they lack the prudence, knowledge, ability and wisdom to control.

In this folly of educated ignorance, it has become fashionable today and intellectually titillating to ignore" the" great basic cause of all things; the fact of the purpose being worked out here below and the master Plan for its working out the invisible but supreme power now soon to interverne and drastically after the course of history, before mankind blasts itself out of existence. 

Unreal though it may seem to those steeped in modern educational deceptions, some 2,500 years ago the Supreme Power of the universe inspired a man named Isaiah to quote Him, saying: "I am God, and there is none like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand" (Isa. 46:9-10). The great world powers are formulating their policies—laying their plans. But the next few years will see astounding events explode in a manner very diffetent than the nations plan, why?

Never a Miss 

Because there is the great God who says: 'The Eternal wrecks the purposes of pagans, he brings to nothing what the nations plan; but the Eternal's purpose stands for ever, and what he plans will last from age to age.... The Eternal looks from heaven, beholding all mankind; from where he sits, he scans all who inhabit the world; he who alone made their minds, he notes all they do" (Ps. 33:10-15, Moffatt translation). 

This same Eternal God said: 'To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things. . . ." And again: "Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance... . All nations before him are as nothing . . /' (Isa. 40:25-26, 15, 17). 

Through His inspired prophets, the great God caused to be written, some 2,500 years ago, and preserved in writing to our time prophecies filling approximately a third of the whole Bible. In them, He named every city of consequence of that time on earth—and also every nation! And He foretold precisely what would, through the years, happen to every city and every nation! In every instance the prophecies came to pass! 

What was prophesied HAPPENED to Babylon, to Tyre, Sidon, Ashkelon, Ashdod, Ekron; to Egypt, Assyria, Chaldea, Persia, Greece and Rome. There has not been a miss! Those 

prophecies were accurate. 

And now, in other prophecies, the same supreme God has foretold precisely what is going to happen to the United States, the British nations, Western Europe, the Middle East, 

Russia! 

Best Mind

Total Ignorance Yet the best minds in the world are in total ignorance of the unprecedented cataclysm that is about to strike. And why have these prophecies not been understood or believed? Because the vital KEY that unlocks prophecy to our understand ing had been lost. That key is the identity of the United 

States and the British peoples in biblical prophecy.

That key has been found! We present it to those whose unprejudiced eyes are willing to see. The events prophesied to strike the American and British peoples in the next few years are SURE? 

God says: "Surely the Lord Eternal will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets" (Amos 3;7 ) These colossal world events, shrinking the first two World Wars into insignificance, WILL COME, but not until the warning has been made available for those whose eyes are to see.

That key has been found! We present it to those whose unprejudiced eyes are willing to see. The events prophesied to strike the American and British peoples in the next few years are SURE?

CHAPTER ONE

THE LOST MASTER KEY HAS BEEN FOUND 

This MAY SOUND INCREDIBLE, but İt's true. Editors, newscasters, foreign correspondents do not understand the real meaning of the world news they report, analyze and discuss. Heads of government are utterly unaware of the true significance of the very world shaking events with which they deal. They have no conception of where these events are leading. Incredible? Perhaps—but true! 

Winston Churchill declared before the United States Congress: "He must indeed have a blind soul who cannot see that »ome great purpose and design is being worked out here below of which we have the honor to be the faithful servants.

But he did not understand that purpose. That great purpose long ago was master planned by the master mind of universe.

There Is Purpose 

It is true, though almost totally unrealized: Mankind was put on this earth for a PURPOSE! And the Maker of mankind sent along with the human product of His making an INSTRUCTION BOOK to reveal that purpose and to guide man in happily, enjoyably fulfilling it. But the human race has rejected the revelation and the guidance and has preferred to stumble on in the darkness of its own futile reasonings. 

About one-third of that Instruction Book is devoted to basic education-revealing to men the necessary foundational knowl'edge otherwise undiscoverable and unknowable: knowledge of what man is, why he is, where his destiny may lead, how to reach it and live happily along the way; revealing knowledge of the true values as distinguished from the false; knowledge of the way to peace, happiness, abundant well being. In other words, the most necessary of all knowledge— the foundation on which to build discoverable knowledge. 

Another approximate third of that Book is devoted to history those events and experiences fulfilling the master pa^nngthe first four millennia of man's mortal sojourn, as examples for our admonition and guidance today. 

And then approximately a third—grasp this!- an entire third of our Maker's revelation to mankind is devoted to prophecy—writing the history of future events before they occur. These foretold future events reveal the great purpose being finally worked out—being brought to its completion.

Why This Ignorance

Now see why heads of state, news analysts and the great minds of our time do not comprehend the real meaning of world events as they are shaping up right now. 

A rational and right knowledge of t.his great purpose, of the Creator's master plan, of where in the progression of those foreordained events we stand today, and of major happenings prophesied yet to occur—this knowledge is the essential basis for understanding the significance and true meaning of today's dynamic world news. Without this vital knowledge, "one-dealing in news gatheng and news reporting, none .responsible for government policies can understand "current world' happenings or where they are leading. And not one saddled with such responsibilities does now! Why?

Two reasons, primarily: 

1) They have been deceived by false education appealing to the vanity of intellect into preju dicial and disdainful rejection of the divine revelation which alone can impart this understanding; and 

2) the vital key necessary to unlock closed doors of biblical prophecy had been lost. 

The great world powers of our time have been, and are, the United States, the Soviet Union, Great Britain, Germany, France, and other Western European nations. The missing vital KEY is simply the identity of these great world powers in biblical prophecy! The staggering and cataclysmic worldshaking events soon to erupt upon a shocked, stunned, bewildered world relate directly and specifically to the United States, Britain, Germany, Western Europe, and Russia. 

Not knowing how and where these nations are specifically mentioned in basic and major prophecies, the educated of the world have been utterly blinded to the plain and simple meaning of prophecy. Due to this lost key more than anything else, the Bible has come to be discredited and rejected in this world's educational system. The unproved and unprovable theory of evolution has been substituted as the foundational concept which became the supposed rational approach to knowledge.

The colossal tragedy of it! Our peoples, being thus talsely and deceptively edıırnted froiu little children, have, in a supposed era of advanced rationalism and enlightenment, actually been groping around in the darkness of ignorance, misunderstanding and confusion, fatally unaware of the earthshaking catastrophe into which they are being directly plunged. 

Thus our peoples have forgotten and departed far from their Maker. They have shut their eyes and closed their ears to His dynamic revelation to mankind, which, to ears that can hear, thunders out the life-and-death warning to those in the responsible positions of power! 

Is it too late? Have our leaders become so steeped in a deceptive false education, so stultified that they cannot be aroused from slumber? God help us now! Time is fast closing in on us!

But the all-important master key has been found! 

That key is knowledge of the astonishing identity of the American and British peoples—as well as the German—in biblical prophecies. This very eye-opening, astounding identity is the strongest proof of the inspiration and authority of the Holy Bible! It is, at the same time, the strongest proof of the very active existence of the living God! 

An exciting, pulsating, vital third of all the Bible is devoted to prophecy. And approximately 90 percent of all 

prophecy pertains to OUR TIME, now, in this latter half of the twentieth century! It is a warning to us—to our English. speaking peoples—of immediate life-and-death import. The 

prophecies come alive once their doors are opened by this now discovered master key! This book will open, to open minds, this hitherto closed vital third of all the Bible. No story of fiction ever was so strange, so fascinating, so absorbing, so packed with interest and suspense, as this gripping story of our identity—and our ancestry. 

Throught it Almighty God gives momentous warning! 

God then our nations may be spared. God help us to understand!
